Break up

I am goin true break up that I really don't understand. Guy break up with me for couple months because of his health problems he is going to different country to sort them out. Also he was hiding from me about that he is married kind of. He make divorce before he met me but something went wrong and it get stuck so he has to travel back to his country to sort all this things out even health too. He said he wants to be alone for this time so he break up with me. Also he is promising that if he comes back we start again.
Now i am confused about to move on or wait for him. I don't know what to think if he actually will come back to me after this long time. Our relationship was based for future planning together. I am worried if I wait this long he might change his mind even I wait for him. I need bit of advice as my mind is stuck.
