My wife doesn't like me watching football

by Dad101

Ok... So despite my wife watching pretty much everything she wants on the TV she despises me watching my football team play once a week. am I asking for too much? She now uses our newborn as a way to stop me watching it...

I get things like... do you think I get an hour to myself? So I offered to let her pick a time and day a week to make her feel equal but she doesn't take it and criticizes every move I make with our newborn and sabotages her own time off...

Help it's driving me mad and causing us to drift apart.

"You gave us counseling without making either one of us feel that you were taking sides.
You always maintained your impartiality with us. You encouraged Rita to be more assertive in stating what she wanted to get from your counseling sessions, as well as what she wanted to get from the relationship.
You taught both of us better communication between ourselves, which lead to an emotional comfort level between us that didn't exist before.
You took control of the direction of the session if things were not moving along.
Thanks so much
for helping us."
