wondering why?

OK... so I'm back up here again to receive some advice about my relationship... I've been with my boyfriend for about five years now and let me tell you it's been a bit of a struggle.let me start of by sex is a non-factor to him at all, maybe once month and I'm only 34. he sits around and complains about everything, don't cook or clean but he does work. he's the type of person who acts as if arguing is a hobby and picks fights for no reason.

I'm a good-hearted person who just wants to be happy in life but I'm really sad on the inside. I always find myself asking myself why I even bother, but at the same time I love him. please give me some positive advice on what I should do.

"You gave us counseling without making either one of us feel that you were taking sides.
You always maintained your impartiality with us. You encouraged Rita to be more assertive in stating what she wanted to get from your counseling sessions, as well as what she wanted to get from the relationship.
You taught both of us better communication between ourselves, which lead to an emotional comfort level between us that didn't exist before.
You took control of the direction of the session if things were not moving along.
Thanks so much
for helping us."
